Our Hands - Maestros of Latin America

Nov. 23, 2024 - Jan. 18, 2025

Our Hands is a showcase of contemporary work by Latin American artists living both in Latin America and in the U.S. This exhibition, ‘Una Muestra de Nuestras Manos’, brings together a powerful selection of pieces that reflect the diversity and cultural depth of Latin American creativity. From established Maestros to new voices, each artist offers their unique perspective on what it means to create from—and for—their heritage. Hosted in the USA, Our Hands offers an insider's view, highlighting some of the artists shaping the present and future of Latin American art.

  • Curator’s Statement

For Our Hands - Una Nuestra de Nuestras Manos,  I had a clear list of artists I wanted to include, chosen both for their strong trajectories and because their work visually resonated with me. Some of these artists have decades of experience, and that’s something I really admire in each piece—the confidence in their lines, gestures, and overall execution. Intentionality is key, and it’s evident in every work.

The exhibition showcases a thoughtful balance between control and spontaneity. The pieces feel considered, with every detail placed with care. The subtlety in the palettes reflects a quiet strength, letting the simplicity of the work speak volumes. Each piece tells its own story through the artists' distinctive approaches, creating a harmonious collection that is both calm and powerful.

As someone deeply inspired by many of these artists, I’ve included a few of my own sculptures in this show, drawn from the same themes and intentionality that connect us all.

Through the artists’ distinctive approaches, this show honors the ongoing evolution of Latin American art and the importance of preserving and sharing these diverse legacies.
